What do you do if you have been friends with a guy for a while and you communicate almost everyday but recently, he has not been as inclined to communicate with you as he usually would? How do you reassure him that all you want is friendship and nothing more? Do you confront him outright or just hint at it?

If I were you, I would subtly ask him about it. Just say something like "hey, I noticed we haven't been talking as much. is everything okay?" or something like that. don't be too abrupt but don't be too scared either. I think that you should definitely inform him of your thoughts though.

Hey!y advice to this is don’t be afraid to send the first text. Ask to hang out or just start a friendly conversation. If you feel as if this guy likes you and you have no feelings then I’d just hunt at that or be very gently about telling him. I hope it all works out!

I’m thinking you mean that he’s starting to speak to you in ways that you think he wants more. I would honestly say, go with the flow and if he compliments you and flatters you, then great. You know where you stand and if you need to let him know at a point that he’s being too much, I think there would be your time to let him know that you want nothing more than a friendship, and if you’re close like that, maybe explain why. Expect him to respect you & your wishes and if not, you cut the chord and he’ll know why.

My initial thought is, if you only want to be friends with this guy, why is it such a big deal if he's been a little bit less chatty for a few days? I would say it's likely he had some romantic interest which either you didn't respond to or he started talking to someone else who has a mutual romantic interest. Most men do not chat with daily with women they have no romantic interest in, but every guy is different.

In my experiences, its always best to be honest. Not blunt, but honest. There is always a way to be honest and to the point without coming across as pushy or too blunt. Just let him know where you stand, and ask him to share his side of things.
