I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for seven years. Recently we've been arguing and fighting a lot about different things in each other's lives. These past few fights we've always gotten to the same conclusion and it's honestly exhausting because it feels like we're going in circles. All I've asked from him is to give us a break, but he says he can't. That it's either be with me or we're done. I've talked with others and they say there is nothing wrong with going on a break because a break doesn't necessarily mean "breaking up". I feel like it'll give me time to find myself because I feel like I've dedicated everything to him, so I've forgotten who I want to be or do. But he says that time will make him drift away and makes me feel like his ultimatum is the only way. Is there any good reasons to go on a break? Should I even be considering this....?

I believe a break is a good idea, however I do advise you to talk to him about the relationship issues more and how you truly feel so he does not feel threatened by this break. If he still does not accept this then I feel that you will have to allow this relationship to end. He should not be giving you an ultimatum and may even be doing it to test you... I hope whatever you decide it all works out the best for both of you. Take care.

I think you should consider going on a break. I'm going to be honest with you. Going on a break will either help or end your relationship. It's either both of you will realize that you still want to be together, or that you're both happier without each other. And believe me, you would wanna know the answer to that question as soon as possible, because fighting and arguing and going on circles will just eventually break you.

Hi cakedd, I recorded a personal video response (10 minutes) and posted it on my Youtube Chanel. Thanks for providing me with a topic to talk about
