Apparently, from what I seen with my elderly mom, older women still want to date - and a lot.  Anyway, what might be some special challenges facing them?  Do you have a grandma or older mom who is actively dating?

Older women still want to date is my view. The fact that one is older does not necessarily stop one from wanting to be loved and cherished. The older I get, the more I realize that indeed there is so much truth to the saying "holding hands at sixty is just as sweet as holding hands at sixteen ".It's just that perhaps at an older age it's a different kind of love, one that comes with lessons learnt and hence can be very fulfilling if you are both at the same points of growth.

My grandmother is already a widow but she's not dating anyone anymore she's too old to have a date with someone. I think if a woman has already children she would rather focus taking good care of her kids but if she's still in her younger years she might find another guy to date with. There's nothing wrong if older women still want to date with someone they deserve to be happy again. Age doesn't define finding a true love.

I don't personally know anyone in that boat right now, but it makes sense - I think at the core of it, we are humans and we're social creatures, so we crave companionship! I don't think that goes away with age, if anything I think it probably intensifies. But I guess one of the key problems would be that by that point, so many people have already settled down! So I think the pool of people you'd be looking at dating would be much smaller than it would be for someone in their early 20's for instance.

In the case of my mom, that's the not the case.. However, her case might not be the norm.  What is the norm?

This whole thing with elderly people and sex baffles me a bit.  I mean, I have heard one old man, around 60 years old, say practically that his sex drive is dead. Nonetheless, he's lying!  He's still in the mood cause so many of his comments so clearly show it.
