Theres this girl that I have a crush on whos 1 year younger than me (Im in grade 10 and shes in grade 9) and id say we are good friends. idk if she has a crush on me but she always says hi or make eye contact and smile when we see each other in the corridor. So before the  summer break starts, i want to at least become better friends so that we can hang out during the break. But because we are in a different grade, we only meet like once a day in the corridor and most of the time, we cant have long conversations since the corridor always gets crowded and we both have to go to our classes. Therefore, i dont have the opportunity to ask her out. Once i had the opportunity to talk to her for like 5 mins when shes on her way to the station but that was before i thought of asking her out and for some reason i dont see her walking anymore. We used to have a chat via text but she suddenly stopped reading for some reason without any sign of hate or rejection.
Her best friend is in the same mother tongue class as mine so i could use her as like a messenger but is it ok to have a her intervention in our relationship?
Also, we are going to hold an assembly since we both went to an optional school trip (we became friends since then) and its likely that i will have a chance to have an actual conversation with her but its roughly 1 month ahead and there might not be enough time until the semester ends. Should I wait until this assembly?
Is there any other way of somehow becoming better friends with her?

to sum up all the above,

1) From the text and not seeing her walking toward the station, am i being rejected from her? if so, is there a good way of fixing the relationship? Is asking about this to her friend a smart move?

2) Is it a good idea to have a third person to intervene in our relationship?

3) Should I wait 1 month to have a good conversation or is there a better solution?

4) Is there any advise or other ways of becoming better friends with her?

let her go for the summer and focus on yourself. lift some weights and get a job. The girls will come on their own.

High school is a complicated and unstable period in everyone’s lives. Relationships are difficult to temper and manage as it and high school makes that way harder. I agree with the first response. What it comes down to is how much are you focusing on yourself. That’s all high school is about and for passionate lovers, it can be total hell. Just do you. If that makes you feel like you’d be missing out on something it’s probably best that you do. As hard as that can be to hear, just know that when you’re not working directly for yourself, you’re working indirectly against yourself.

Try to keep some contact with her, or try asking her for help with something and see how she reacts to that...  the fact that she smiles at you and look at you might be just her being friendly but could also mean she might like you, anyway, find a way to get a conversation with her outside school, or right after see if she agrees.
