Author Topic: Menopause killing my wife's libido

Sex dropped off a cliff about 4 months ago as my wife's menopause symptoms started kicking in (hot flashes etc.). We're both 53. She says it's just killed her desire as well as her physical reactions. And the couple of times we've done it in the last few months have been mostly bad - often uncomfortable for her and anxious for me.

She's not insensitive to my needs - she gives a great HJ - but I'm hoping she'll look for treatments that might make a difference, not just with sex but also other symptoms. But she's not really moving on that. Meanwhile, I'm horny all the time and trying to suppress feelings of resentment, which I am well aware is neither justified nor appropriate.

I guess I'm afraid that this will become the new normal, which I do not want. How do I get her to treat this with a sense of urgency without coming off like an insensitive asshole? Or is that the wrong question to be asking? Looking for ideas.
