Met my girlfriend in May, made things official in September. Everything's going great but in November her car was written off in an accident and its left her carless since. Shes found a new car, the exact same as her old one which she loved, but doesnt have the money for it. She has no savings so cant purchase it, and due to her having a low credit score due to age etc she cannot get a loan. So she basically cant get a car and non of her family can help her either. I myself have an average job so am not loaded but have around £30k in savings which was built up by my family when I was young, and also me when I first started working.

I feel horrible because I want to help her so bad and I'm the only one that can but I dont know if it's too early in the relationship. I mentioned it to her and she said she'd pay me back every last penny even if we broke up, but it's just such a big strain to put on the relationship. I also feel bad because her crash happened on her way home after taking me to the train station (as I dont drive) and she was just trying to save me a taxi fare. She means so much and I feel awful holding on to £30k when she needs £2k so much.

The exact amount of the car is £2,395. I really dont know what to do but want to help her so bad. What do you think?

If you trust her, love her then you can give her.

No, no and NO!

Absolutely NOT.

Matter of fact, you should dump her for asking you to loan (give) her money.

You will never see that money again and you will surely break up with your girlfriend.

Take it from me, a 58 year old man who has dated more women than you can shake a stick at. And yes, when I  was in my 20's I did fall for a 'romance bunco' and gave a 'girlfriend' $500 bucks only to not have it paid back but to have her break off our relationship two weeks later and then I found out that she was a stripper having sex for money with men at the parking lot of the club!  I've been through it all and I have NEVER and I mean NEVER had a woman ever pay me back money she 'borrowed'.  I learned the golden rule a long time ago: NEVER give women money and if they ask for it - DUMP THEM.

Your 30K is your money. Not hers or any other woman's. It's yours. Don't feel guilty because you have money and some girl does not. That's her problem. Are you married to her? No. So don't give her money.

It shows a complete lack of integrity and manners on her part to ask you to give her money. How insulting to you. A good woman would never ask someone she's dating or not married to for money. Never.

Show some self esteem and keep your money and drop her.

Men are not wage slaves for women. We do not exist to support women and give them money.  Guys, STOP thinking that it's your duty to give women money. Stop it. Keep your money.

Sounds like you could, trust your gut. You could also get something in writing and notarized that she will pay you back. Another option would be to buy the car yourself so it is in your name and let her pay it off, and when it is paid you put it in her name.

Sorry I should have made it clearer but she never asked me to help, I offered and she even said no at first, but then she did say that IF i did chose to help her, she would pay me it all back even 'if' we did split up. Hope that clears things ;D
