Hey all,

My question to you all is: what is the difference between dating and in a relationship.

At what stage do you formally know that you're in a relationship with someone? Are you not in a relationship until you both talk about being in a relationship, or until one of you asks the other person to be their boyfriend/girlfriend?

I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding this, from your experience what have you done? Asked them to be your girlfriend/boyfriend, or have just gone alone with it assuming that you're now in a relationship?

i think it's important t ohave that discussion about whether you would like to be in a relationship, i personally would like the person im dating to ask me if i would like to be their girlfriend!

i couldn't imagine continuing on with someone and then "assuming" you are together when you haven't even asked.

Commitment. That's the difference between dating and being in a relationship. When you're just dating, I believe you don't have much of a say with your partner. You don't have a right to be jealous too. But once you're in a relationship, somehow you're responsible for her and plan for the future together.

In dating you are building your relationship, In this stage both of you are building trust connection and love for each other. and in relationship both of you are committed to each other and both of you will protect and guard each other because if you are in relationship you should take care of your partner

In dating that's the stage where both of you are getting to know each other. while in a relationship you already fall in love with each other.

I think it's important to clarify with whoever you may be interested in or talking to with what you're looking for. People make assumptions and often times assumptions are wrong and can lead to people getting hurt. When you start dating with open honesty it will lead to better communication and understanding to where each of you are. With that in mind it's much easier to make the decision together.

If you lookup relationship in a dictionary you will get something like: "the way in which two or more people or things are connected with or involve each other"

There are all kinds of relationships. You can have a relationship with a friend, family, even your pet and so on.

So the real question may be "what TYPE of relationship do you have"

You could go on dating this girl date after date after date and that means you are connected in doing this one activity together. So it is a relationship. If you decide to jump in bed together and do it again and again one would say you have a sexual relationship. If you decide to move in with each other and share your daily life as a couple,  most would say you have a serious relationship.

And so on.

What I feel the main difference between dating and in a relationship is that people in a relationship are connected by a mutual commitment to each other. Both are agreed, either officially or unofficially. In dating, we have no reason or prospective......

dating is the first part of relationship and love. People sometimes use dating sites to find a wife. Websites have many profiles with girls and you always can find a blonde, tall girl with tattoo  :P Or find a sweet brunette woman. I used Tinder.com and Dating.com. For me, the second site better. You can read the small review on this site - https://mail-order-brides-sites.com/dating-review. The first one I think you know

I think that it's implied that you're pursuing a romantic relationship with a person if you go on several dates with them. Once you've established that you like each other (in a romantic way) at the end of the first date, and you have decided that you want to go on further dates, then it should go without saying that you have become a couple.

Personally, I find this modern concept of dating rather bizarre. Back in the day, when someone liked another person, they went to them and asked them to be their significant other. If they accepted, they became a couple. If they refused, then they remained acquaintances.

@DohLoser you are right “Dating is the step of relationship and love” but some time it goes on the wrong way...People take advantage of dating [ Sex ] to fulfill their needs. But, yes dating is the best way to find a life partner.

And to continue my last i would like to say, that we live in a great time.
You can find somebody without living home and have a distance relationships when you want it.
I found my girl on site like this https://www.flirt.com/ and now we are married for one year and live a happy life.
So all is in your hands!
