I like to play musical instruments and also my 1st cousin and his wife.  In fact, they both play in a bluegrass band together.  Anyway, it seems like common things like music really bond.  It's sort of like how when I was in college there was a husband and wife - and they were both math professors.

I tried learning how to play a guitar when I was still a teenager but I couldn't really focus on the guitar lessons which made me not master its playing well. But I do bond well with listening to music of all sorts. Music helps me keep calm, tame me when I'm pissed and angry and it also helps me out through my stressful times. Sleeping with music playing has been a habit for me now because it helps me to sleep well and very easily like a baby.

I'm curious.  Does anyone know couples who both play music?  What kind of music?  Where did you meet them?

I actually know a few of them. Mostly are celebrity couples who are both singers like Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid from the Philippines. They are both good singers and Ogie is a singer-songwriter who produces most of her wife's (Regine's) songs. I'm actually a Filipino and most of the musical couples I know are Filipinos as well. I also listen to this rising musical couple where the girl is a versatile singer whilst the guy is a guitarist and a singer as well. They actually both know how to play the guitar. They're KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde. Kz is actually a contestant of Singer 2018 in China.

My husband and I bond with music during his work offs. When our baby is asleep, we simply go outside, feeling the cold breeze while he plays the guitar and I sing along with the tune. We don't have the perfect voice, we don't have a good voice either. But we love music even if music doesn't love us. Music is our outlet in forgetting the bad days experiences.

I think, I can't live without music.  I always listen to music from the time I wake up till I close my eyes, yeah, like the lyric of a song.  ;D  And I love playing my guitar specially if I have a problem and I'm drinking alone.  Playing my guitar while drinking beers alone is one of the best situation for me.  My connection with music somehow is deep, and I do play guitar since high school, and it's really fun.

I don't play an instrument myself but my husband is talented with the guitar. But I don't think you necessarily need to play music to bond over it! When my husband and I were in a long distance relationship we would always share songs with each other that had meaningful song lyrics and things like that - it's amazing sometimes that what can be said in a song is better expressed than trying to say it with just words alone.

I think it's cool to bond with music, but honestly, having the same music hobby (I play music.) isn't necessary.  In fact, I don't think I've ever been drawn toward musicians that much - at least not as romantic partners.   Anyway, though, it is a big plus if the mate is interesting at least.  In other words, maybe they're an artist or have some other talent.

I wouldn't want to be in the same band as my wife or girlfriend!  I mean, that could nerve-wrecking.  Well, for one thing, everybody needs time to themselves, right?
