I have been dating a man for over a year now and things were going great, so much so that we got engaged.
The problem is that early on, I caught him in a few smaller lies and then later on a huge lie.
It sincerely bothered me as I haven't lied to him through out our relationship, whether it be a small lie or big lie.
He asked his dad about lying and his dad said that everyone lies at some point whether it's white lies or hiding things so as to spare a fight.
He said it's normal and okay.
I am not okay with lies of any form. I would rather be in a relationship where we are honest with one another all the time, even if it's not always nice truths.
I am now wondering if we are incompatible over this situation as he still thinks that lying isn't that big of a deal depending on the situation.
Thoughts? Would you stay with someone who told you they might lie to you at some point? Do you think lying is normal or okay?
