I have come across a lot of men and women, though especially women who express sentiments of being afraid of getting old and being alone.

It makes me wonder -is it really possible that you can never truly be happy unless you are in a relationship?

It is because sometimes they already have the mindset that they will get hurt due to some past experiences that they are encountering.

Well, myself, I don't want to get too close to my lady cause she wants a 24-hr sex toy, as my last girlfriend was obsessed with buying sex toys, which don't get me wrong, isn't bad, but then it started to get very annoying.  In that case, I want an office of my own or an apartment of my own to escape from her sometimes!  Anyway, I think the real problem is she is on welfare and she needs a job.

There's nothing wrong with being alone and not in a relationship. I prefer that than be in a toxic, unhealthy relationship. Sometimes, in solace you find peace.

There are several factors that indicate fright in entering a relationship and one of these is a traumatic past that has deeply scarred an individual. Likewise, family relationships that are violent and broken oftentimes lead to mistrust and fear to enter into relationships. People have undergone counseling by reason of this and there have been success stories of individuals whose hearts have been healed over time with the proper care and love by dearest friends or relatives. In the present era, more people are becoming frightened of the future because of what they see on television or how they have portrayed Hollywood with the huge percentage of divorce and marital legal battles ongoing left and right.

Yes, talking about Hollywood, people leave their marriages even after only a few years of being married. Sadly, exchanging partners has also become the new norm in the stardom world. This news of marriages falling apart puts a greater sense of worry and disparity in the hearts of people who also long to be loved and accepted. They'd rather suffer in silence than experience the torture and pain of being left behind. Who are we to judge? It's their choice and it's definitely their life so there's more than what meets the eys.

I think that the usual reason is that they got hurt in a previous relationship and after that, they are afraid to love and trust a new individual so, they prefer to stay lonely than try again.
