Maybe I have seen this happening in movies but I know it has happened in real life as well. You love someone but when you introduce him or her to your parents, they get rejected.

This could be because of tribe, cultural social values or even religion. I don't understand why there should be barriers when people already love each other. What would you do if the person you love is not accepted by your parents?

I would want a clear answer as to why my parents don't like the person I love.

If I believe that it isn't an acceptable reason and that they're just judging the person without knowing them first, then I'd probably fall out with my parents.

They should do what's best for you and if this person makes you happy, it should also make them happy!

If there is a good reason why your parents don't accept who you love and presented to them that you want to marry, I think that they are not doing the right thing, so ignoring them wouldn't be a bad thing to do.

Mind you that, the person whom you love is going to be living with you once you get married and not with your parents, so their opinion doesn't matter that much.

It's only if the person is actually a bad person and there is a way for you know, but without it, please ignore your parents and marry the love of your life.

I would keep dating with that person and I would prove to my parents that she/he is the person I love. A strait and sincere talk with parents can make them think over.

If they're the one for you and genuinely makes you happy, then your parents should be supportive of this.

To give this threads some more context, I have updated the title to: What if the parents don't like the person you love?

The title before didn't make a lot of sense.  :)
