Whether you're dating or you've been married for years, how long have you been with your significant other?

I've been married now for almost 5 years, we dated for about a year and a half before we married! We just knew that we were right for each other, I guess.

What about you?

My first relationship actually lasted about 7 years. It was during my university years in school when I dated my first girlfriend.

We were together all through the university and some years after it before we separated after she traveled outside the country. We still talk from time to time but she is now married abroad.

Now, I'm currently married with two kids and I dated my wife for roughly 2 years before getting married to her and till date, I haven't regretted getting married to Kathrine.

My first lasted around about a year, oh god, that relationship was garbage, it wasn't until it ended that I realised it.

I have been with my current girlfriend for just over 2 years now, time is flying by, I met her at work.

I've been with mine since 2011.  Anyway, it's been fairly stable.  Well, at least neither of us have actually cheated on each other - but I won't say we haven't had major ups and downs.

I think it's quite normal to have ups and downs in any relationship, no relationships are perfect, plus, it tests your bond.

This May, we celebrated our 4th anniversary. When we got married, we had met just for three months. We did not have a long relationship, we met, we met again and again, then decided to get married. I don't know if we had love between us or not. However, it felt good to be with him, thoughts about him made me feel good.

Well we have been together for 2 years and 3 months and it's been the best time of my life. It's not the exhilarating kind of relationship. It's like when I'm with him, I feel safe and secured. I could by myself when I'm with him and he accepts me for who I am. I think I already am with the right guy for me and I really do hope this lasts.

I meet my wife in 2005, we have moved together in the same year (after only 4 months), we got married in 2017, I know we got married after a long time but this is insignificant for us. We are happy and now we are having two kids, a boy of 12 years and a small baby of 5 months.

Mine has been the same as with @Jasonn  Anyway, that's a lot longer than a lot of people so I can be thankful for that!  So who else has been together for 8 years or so?

Six years and counting. We've been together since 2012.
Two years in a long distance relationship and 4years being together physically.

I broke up with my first boyfriend after a month, not that I don't love him. But because I know I still can't commit myself in a serious relationship. I am just 18years old at that time. I don't know but I made it, I mean I was able to avoid being deeply inlove because I know I am too young for heartaches, responsibility, and worst getting pregnant at an early age. We all know the teenagers are too concious about it to try. I was able to avoid it. Yes I was hurt, regrets come. Yes, I admit because I do love him, but I still have a lot of things I wanna try. I have a lot of dreams to fulfill.

Now I graduated college, past the board exam. And happily being with a guy I love for six years up until now.

My partner and I have been together for 5 months now. Yes, we are just a new couple but we have known each other for years now because we were childhood friends. We used to live in the same neighborhood when we were kids. We used to play kids games like limbo rock, guess the killer, touch the post, different hand games, ten-twenty, stick games and many more. Our childhood was a picture of happy kids with full of freedom. He has seen my ugliest days :D :D :D and has seen the time when puberty hits me. We lost contact when my family decided to move in the countryside. After ten long years, he added me on Facebook and started having a  conversation. Later on, it became a part of our daily routine even though we are busy since he has been working overseas and I am working as a freelance trainer. We started sharing things, memories, occasions and became even closer. Until I received a phone call and it was him asking me to fetch him in the airport because he has just arrived. While he was having a vacation in our country home, he started courting me and never failed showing his love for me. The week before his flight going back overseas to work, we became a couple and started making memories together. Though we are miles away and it takes 3 long years to wait before we can be together again, I think it is just fine because our love can patiently wait.  :-*
