So a close friend of mine told me her brother-in-law was flirting with her and she has rebuffed his advances but he is growing bolder by the day. He has been staying with her and her husband for about three months now and shows no sign of leaving any time soon.

I usually stay out of people's relationships and I advise others to do the same because if anything goes wrong as a result of your advice, they will always blame you. She has asked me for advice and l don't know what to tell her. Pls advise me. Thanks

Since you don't really want to get involved, just tell her so. Tell her that she knows the right thing to do and that she can handle her situation. You may not give her advice, but you can always support her by boosting up her courage and being there to listen to her when she needs someone to talk to. You don't have to force yourself to say something about her issue. Just like you said, giving advice may not help but worsen the situation instead. Plus, she'll understand.

Has she told her husband?
They all need to have a discussion about what's happening and set rules and boundaries or he will continue to take advantage of the situation.  If he's outstaying his welcome I would make sure there's some kind of contract in place for the conditions in which he is allowed to stay there. That's their home and he seems to be making it uncomfortable. It might sound dramatic but if she really doesn't want him there maybe get law enforcement involved. She shouldn't have to take care of a grown man especially when he's disrespecting her home
